TEXT OF SPEECH Hi, my name’s Brian and one time I was riding my bike and i ran into a pole. At first, I didn’t want to come to Foothill, but when I met more and more people, I became more excited to come here. My dream job has always been to play in the NBA. We’ll get into that later in my athletic goals, but first I’ll share with you my family goals.
Next, are my academic goals. A few of my academic goals are learning to enjoy Biology more ( I’ve always hated Science), become better at understanding Math, mostly fractions, and to find a book I actually enjoy because I don’t enjoy reading very much. A big dream of mine has always been to go to USC, but I know the academic requirements there are very high. So, I’d say my biggest academic goal in the four years I’ll be here is to get good enough grades to make it into college. Another thing I would like to accomplish is to learn better study habits, like not procrastinating as much.
Brian's Goals For Freshman Year
My family and I have always been close. Some of my family goals are to stop complaining to my mom about chores, spend more time with my family in general, and to stop making fun of my brothers’ crazy long hair. Also, I would like to go on more vacations with my family, but that all depends on other things because we are a VERY busy family. Also, I would like to go visit my relatives more often who live farther away from home.
Coming into Foothill, I only knew a few people, but during summer league for basketball, I made at least ten friends. It’s been great so far with my new friends at Foothill. We have a strong connection because we help each other with school and I basketball. A few goals I have with my friends are to hang out more after school and to travel somewhere with them. Also, I hope we can all stay friends throughout my four years here.
When I was five years old, I started playing basketball, and today I’m on the JV basketball team.I have big goals for my athletic career. My first goal is to make the Varsity team as a sophomore. Next, I hope to lead Foothill to its first CIF in basketball. My last two goals are very distant, but they are to play college basketball and to play professional basketball. I believe if I put in the work and effort I can maybe someday complete all these goals. I have a lot of goals for high school, mostly through basketball. I’m looking forward to these next four years at Foothill. I hope I can accomplish most or maybe even all of these goals. Thank You.
